A Bollywood Composer Invented Techno in 1982 and Nobody Knew About It Until Now [Music]

I’m no techno aficionado. I like bleeps and bloops. Who cares if they’re acid house or space jam or whatever? But I can tell you this: ” Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat ” is amazing.

Xbox 360 | GTR back in the driver’s seat

SimBin revs up development on new installment in simulation racing series, rubber to hit the road on unspecified platforms in 2011. Last year, gear-headed racing studio SimBin released its first console game, the Atari-published Race Pro for the Xbox 360. While the effort received a positive critical reception , it didn’t fare quite as well as the company’s previous racing sims on the PC. As this GTR Evolution pic shows, the series wasn’t lacking in realistic visuals to start with.

Feelin’ like a panther: Splinter Cell Conviction preview

With Splinter Cell Conviction , Ubisoft wants to make you feel like a panther. Ars recently had the opportunity to preview the co-op campaign for the oft-delayed stealth action game at Toronto Comic Con this past weekend, and the consensus amongst the developers on hand was that they want to turn players into predators. And while it’s hard to tell if they’ve fully succeeded given the short amount of time I had with the game, it’s clear that they’re on the right track. Read the comments on this post

User Ignorance Causes Cloud Security Leak; Accounts, Passwords Revealed

At 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning I was doing routine maintenance on my personal Amazon Web Services account and instead found myself looking at something I had no right to be seeing: A database with 800,000 user accounts to the e-card site CardMaster.com . Along with that were the database passwords and back end of a major U.S. Public Broadcasting Service news show website ( Gwen Ifill’s Washington Week ), including daily updates from panelists on the stories they cover.

Wii | Just Dance waltzes off with 2 million

Ubisoft’s critically panned rhythm game is a commercial hit, going double-platinum in four months. When Just Dance launched on November 17, 2009, it stood the risk of being crushed by higher-profile releases. However, Ubisoft’s rhythm game found a casual-game niche between high-profile hits like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, both released during the same month. Despite being critically panned , the Ubisoft Paris-developed title went from being the 20th best-selling game in the US during December to cracking NPD’s top 10 in January and February .

Artech Studios readying arcade action take on WWII submarine warfare for June 15 release exclusively on Microsoft’s console. Nintendo’s ‘And-Kensaku’ turns Google searching into a game

Back in October 2008 , Nintendo of Japan showed off a ton of Wii games all at once. They’re still not all out yet. Some, like Cosmic Walker , remain largely mysterious, while we’re only recently hearing renewed discussion about games like Span Smasher (now called FlingSmash ). One of the weirdest games from that already-weird lineup was Kensax , a minigame collection in which competition was based on achieving search engine queries with greater results than your opponents.
